Who We Are…
Initially united in 1854 by the promise to abolish slavery, the Republican Party has always stood for FREEDOM, PROSPERITY, and OPPORTUNITY for all. Today, as those principles come under attack, we are engaged in a national effort to fight for our proven agenda, take our message to every American, grow the party, promote election integrity, and elect Republicans up and down the ballot.
The members of The Northumberland County Republican Committee are residents of the community who share these beliefs and principles. We are all volunteers, led by an elected Executive Committee comprised of a Chairperson, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Principles of the Republican Party:
- Freedom – The Individual Freedom to be you…
- Prosperity – to achieve individual success…
- Opportunity – equal for one and all…
- Limited Government interference in personal life…
The Northumberland County Republican Committee (NCRC) exists to promote the values and principles of the Republican Party. We recruit, encourage, and work to elect qualified candidates to public office and to generally assist the voting public within local precincts served by the NCRC.
We Live By:
The Republican Creed…
- The free enterprise system is the most productive supplier of human needs and economic justice
- All individuals are entitled to equal rights, justice, and opportunities, and should assume their responsibilities as citizens in a free society
- Fiscal responsibility and budgetary restraints must be exercised at all levels of government
- The Federal Government must preserve individual liberty by observing Constitutional limitations
- Peace is best preserved through a strong national defense
- Faith in God, as recognized by our Founding Fathers, is essential to the moral fiber of the Nation
We Pledge…
We begin every Committee Meeting by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
Today, many lack an understanding of exactly what that Pledge means. Some may be familiar with actor, artist & comedian Red Skelton (1913-1997) who recorded the following reading of the Pledge of Allegiance on January 14, 1969.
Below, Mr Red Skelton provides an excellent explanation of what The Pledge should mean to us all. Enjoy…….
